Overal Rating:
I feel devastated about this book not working for me. I usually enjoy cozy mysteries, and sci-fi is one of my favorite genres, so the Space Janitor series felt like a match made in heaven. It sadly isn’t the first time that a cozy mystery in space didn’t work for me. Sigh.
The premises were interesting enough, but I soon realized that this was going to contain more traditional romance than I normally enjoy in my books. I think I would have enjoyed things a lot more if Triana had been a more mature character and if there weren’t so many traditional romcom ingredients in the story. The author didn’t specify a specific age, but given the character’s background, I don’t think Triana was older than early twenties. I might have enjoyed this book twenty years ago, but I now prefer more mature characters. The book ended up being full of trite stereotypes, with long, boring scenes, irregular pacing, and a disappointing resolution. There was also zero science, and Triana felt like a Mary Sue character, which made things even less interesting.
I had high hopes of having found a good series to entertain myself, but I was wrong. On to the next book.

My name is Elena. Since I was a little child I loved science fiction and fantasy, and I can’t resist a good novel. In 2015, while wait I started to listen to audiobooks and I discovered the pleasure in being able to read while doing my daily tasks, so there’s always an audiobook playing on my phone. If you see me with my Bluetooth headphones on, please be gentle, I get easily startled.
I live with my boyfriend, which I met during my six-year stay in Belgium, four cockatiels, eight lovebirds, and a hamster in Madrid, Spain; and I like to spend my free time knitting and sewing while listening to audiobooks.
